The BDC is in need of donations for their annual Christmas Store open from the 14-16th.

Toys Needed for the “Greatest Gift” Christmas Store

It's almost Christmas, and for many of us the excitement of the season is palpable.

While anticipation is brimming for many, this can be a high-pressure season for other community members struggling to make ends meet. And because Christmas can be an obstacle to overcome, we are calling on you, Memphis!

Toys are needed for the Binghampton Development Corporation’s “Greatest Gift” Christmas Store, open from December 14th-16th.

While similar to angel trees or adopt-a-family, The Greatest Gift Christmas store gives parents the ability to do the gift-giving themselves. Binghampton families are invited to shop from an assortment of brand-new, donated toys—giving them the satisfaction and joy of providing Christmas gifts for their children at very affordable prices.

You see... Everything within the BDC Christmas store—from Razor scooters and basketballs, to action figures, and more—is all $5 or less.

Yeah, you read that right! $5 or less—and thanks to the generous Memphians, the BDC Christmas store has served 75-100 families each year since 2009.

"For those who are struggling to make ends meet or are putting everything into covering life's basic needs, providing for Christmas can be another hurdle."
Noah Gray
BDC Executive Director

Those who donate toys or funds to make this store happen are bringing three immediate positive impacts:

  1. Jobs for Binghampton residents who run the store.
  2. An affordable and dignifying alternative for parents to provide Christmas presents for their children.
  3. Joy for the children who won’t have to miss out on the magic of Christmas.

Brand new, unopened toys for boys and girls ages 0-12 are needed.

You can shop the BDC’s amazon wish list for toys to be directly delivered to the BDC. The wishlist covers everything from dollhouses to basketball hoops,  headphones, trucks, action figures, and more!
