The Green Room is a premier listening space for local music lovers who are able to enjoy some of the area’s hottest musical acts, in a state of the art, nostalgic style venue.

“We want people to come and feel comfortable in the space,” The Green Room’s Program Coordinator, Eso Tolson said. “It’s like being in your living room listening to music. You may even want to kick off your shoes.”

The lounge-style space lives up to its name, with a majority green setting. From the plush hunter green curtains to the mid-century style furniture that gives it an eclectic feel, The Green Room is a viable option to hear live music in an intimate setting.

“It’s basically a premier listening experience and a really good venue for musicians who want to showcase their music. Most local musicians play at bars, but this space will allow them to play in a more intimate setting,” Tolson said.

The room is acoustically treated to host a variety of musical acts, from large bands to soft performances. Whether a big band or spoken word artist, The Green Room’s space, stage, and audio-visual equipment can be reconfigured to create a unique, high quality and intimate artistic exchange.

In an effort to create the best experience, organizers kicked off a soft launch music series in September called Spins. The event series features local DJ’s ‘spinning’ a variety of tunes from hip-hop to folklore.

“From Spins we’re learning more about what people want and what will make the Green Room an even better experience,” Tolson said.

Since its launch, Spins has hosted an event each month, with the next one slated for December 15th. Most performances at The Green Room kick off at 10 PM and end at 1 AM, offering a new nightlife option for the Bluff City.
