Recently, Butler Snow invested in the Choose901: Alumni program by hosting a networking happy hour. The Alumni team brought together a dozen young adults to meet with Memphis professionals and hone their networking skills.
Butler Snow is a law firm with an office here in Memphis that represents clients in a variety of legal areas. The Choose901: Alumni program is a campaign of City Leadership that supports Alumni at partner schools for the years during college and after.
This event that was planned by Butler Snow attorney and Choose901: Alumni mentor, Lauren Jones, began with a pre-work session for the Alumni. The pre-work session was led by Kristian Slater, Talent Coordinator at City Leadership, who shared best practices for networking with professionals.
Kristian showed the Alumni how and when you should start and end a conversation and how to market yourself to an employer.
The event continued with Alumni enjoying light refreshments and connecting with the Butler Snow team and their summer associates in the city to exchange info on career aspirations.

Butler Snow’s all-in attitude really made this event what it was. The Butler Snow team opened up and created an environment for the Alumni to be themselves and ask candid questions.
