What: Free Concert Season Bucket Brigade
When: Every Friday – Sunday in September from 6PM to 7:30PM
Support the Overton Park Shell in their mission to provide free music experiences by collecting donations from families and friends who are eager to give!
youth villages
What: Intramural Flag Football
When: Every Wednesday in September from 3PM to 5PM
As Youth Villages restarts their intramural flag football team, they are looking for volunteers to referee, keep score, and even coach! Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and complete the organization’s application, liability and vaccine waiver, background check and a one hour training.
Latino Memphis
What: Bilingual Health + Wellness Event
When: September 9th from 2:45PM to 6:15PM
Latino Memphis is in need of bilingual volunteers to assist and inform Spanish speaking families about the health resources available to them at the event such as health screenings, COVID-19 vaccines and HIV and HEP-C testing along with many other resources!
Memphis Rox Climbing + Community
What: Yoga Festival
When: September 10th with 2 hour shifts between 8AM and 4PM
Join Memphis Rox for their annual Yoga Festival at the Memphis Botanic Garden. Volunteers are needed to assist with parking, set up, check in, merch table, and more. Volunteers gain access to the festival by volunteering and get a tee shirt!
Memphis Botanic Garden
What: Alice in Wonderland Tea Party
When: September 11th from 12:30 to 3:30 pm
Help MBG with making their Alice in Wonderland Tea Party an event to remember! Friendly volunteers are needed to assist with event set up, work various craft stations, help serve tea and snacks, as well as assist guests with picture taking at their photo booth. They ask that volunteers are able to stay for the entire event and be on their feet.
Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy
What: New Volunteer Training Session
When: September 10th from 9:30AM to 11AM
Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy is hosting a new volunteer training session to teach volunteers how to assist them with their adaptive riding lessons. Volunteers will horse lead and side walk with riders each week and no horse experience is required! Volunteers must be at least 14 years old and able to walk consistently on uneven ground for up to one hour.
Arkwings Foundation
What: Gallery & Garden Volunteers
When: September 14th, 21st, & 28th with shifts from 11AM- 1PM or 3PM to 5PM
Arkwings, a community arts and nature gallery for local history, arts, and nature lovers, is looking to build a team of fun, energetic volunteers to help maintain outdoor creativity stations, organize art supplies, meet-n-greet guests, learn and share the history of the house and overall just bring good vibes to their happy, creative space!
MIFA
What: Our City Our Story 2022
When: September 15th from 9AM to 2PM
Join MIFA as they host New York Times bestselling author of Maid, Stephanie Land. MIFA needs volunteers for this luncheon event to assist with set up and break down, greeting and assisting guests, and registration. Volunteers will receive lunch and be able to experience this incredible guest!
Cooper-Young Community Association
What: Cooper-Young 4-Miler
When: September 16th with various 1-2.5 hour shifts from 6PM to 10PM
The Cooper-Young 4-Miler is a classic Midtown tradition held in the streets of Cooper-Young the night before the Cooper-Young Festival. Volunteers can sign up to work at various water stations, serve beer, set up or break down tables, be a medical coordinator or a party site coordinator!
Germantown Parks and Rec
What: Small Fry Triathlon
When: September 17th from 8AM to 12PM
Join the Germantown Parks and Rec as they host their annual Small Fry Triathlon where preschoolers have the chance to run, bike, and “swim” before celebrating with a medal and a bounce house. Volunteers are needed to assist with set up and break down, packet pick up, cheering kiddos on, and more!
University of Memphis FedEx Institute of Technology & CodeCrew
What: The UMazing Tech Race
When: September 17th with shifts from 8AM to 11AM and 11AM to 2PM
The University of Memphis FedEx Institute of Technology and CodeCrew are teaming up to host the inaugural UMazing Tech Race at The University of Memphis! The event features two-person teams competing in technology focused circuits. Tech volunteers are needed to run and monitor event stations during the event and non-tech volunteers are needed to assist with setup and breakdown, registration, snack and food distribution, and other general needs.
Catholic Charities of West Tennessee
What: Outreach: Food and Clothing Volunteers
When: September 20th 8AM to 10AM
Join Catholic Charities of West Tennessee as they need volunteers for the ongoing outreach and distribution of food and hygiene items to their most vulnerable populations. These events take place rain or shine. The more volunteers they have, the better they can serve those who need them most.
Room in the Inn
What: Front Desk Volunteer
When: September 26th- 28th from 10AM to 1PM and 1PM to 4PM
Room in the Inn Front Desk Volunteers will be trained to answer the phone, transfer calls to appropriate staff members, and keep a call log. Volunteers will also monitor the lobby for activity, cleanliness, and ensure an environment of hospitality for all entering and leaving the building. Ideal candidates would be those who would like a structured volunteer schedule and are able to return at least weekly for their shift. The ability to navigate a multi-line phone system, internet searches, and basic computer skills are also necessary.
For the Kingdom
What: Feed the Block
When: September 30th from 2PM to 6PM
Join For the Kingdom in their Feed the Block initiative. This program cooks and plates meals to be delivered to Raleigh residents. Volunteers are needed to assist with prepping, cooking, and plating the meals. Volunteers can also assist with cleaning, washing dishes, sorting donated goods, and other tasks to ensure staff are supported as they serve hundreds of locals every weekday.
