Your Guide to a Not-so-Spooky Family-Friendly Halloween in Memphis

Halloween is almost here, and for families, it can be a challenging time trying to find activities that are both fun and age-appropriate for the little ones. Lucky for those of us who live in Memphis, this city has plenty of events and happenings that are just perfect for a family-friendly Halloween! From pumpkin patches to hayrides, and even trunk-or-treats, you won’t want to miss out on the Halloween festivities.

ZOO BOO AT MEMPHIS ZOO

October 10-12, 16-18, 19, 23-25, 26, 30, 31, and November 1

A Halloween favorite!

Zoo Boo is a Memphis classic featuring Candy Lane, Monster Zoo, Trick-or-treat stations, a Dino Graveyard, mini-golf, and more. Costumes encouraged! It’s a true family-friendly event that’s amazing for the whole family. Plus, Wednesday, October 22 is Sensory Night from 6:00pm to 9:30pm.

Halloween Hike

October 18th

Give your kiddos pumpkin to talk about this Halloween! Join the Memphis Botanic Garden for this not-so-spooky celebration featuring friendly Halloween characters, music to boogie-man down to, and some hair-raising fun at the Memphis Boo-tanic Garden.

Spooky Sprint

October 19th

The Spooky Sprint 5k/10k & Half Marathon is a fun, Halloween-themed event that is perfect for the whole family. There’s even a kid’s dash, which is an untimed dash for kiddos ages 10 and under.

Halloween Spectacular

October 26th

The one-day Halloween Spooktacular event at the Children’s Museum of Memphis brings all the not-so-spooky fun. It’s all treats and no tricks at this must-do annual festival for the family.

Experience spooky science projects, a mini clay pumpkin sculpting station, Halloween crafts, a temporary tattoo station, face painting stations, free carousel rides, Haunted Castle Blue Block Challenge, and a scavenger hunt.
