Mid-South Hobbies Opens 2-Acre RC Park on Summer

How many places in Memphis are really fun for both adults and kids? And how many of those are free? Here’s one for your list!

Mid-South Hobbies has everything you need for a fun summer day with their new 2-acre R/C car park. Children and adults can take to the tracks with their remote-controlled cars – there are four unique courses with all kinds of jumps for a good challenge. If the Memphis summer heat is melting your wheels, don’t worry– Mid-South Hobbies has 16,000 square-feet of hobby shop ready and waiting inside. There are indoor tracks for crawlers, hot wheels, minis, and slot cars, along with a LEGO play area, benches for reading and SO. MANY. HOBBIES.

While the RC Park is all for family fun, if you’re interested in racing competitively, Mid-South Hobbies has also expanded their list of events to include competitions with the Thrills and Spills racing group, and a model car club meets every other weekend. The store also hosts classes, like soldering and airbrushing, that you can sign up for on their website.

Mid-South Hobbies still has all your favorite arts and crafts supplies, board games, model trains and airplanes, puzzles, R/C parts, and just about every other hobby you can think of. But you don’t have to just buy something and leave. The new R/C park encourages everyone to stick around for a minute and hang out.

The best part? It’s completely free. You don’t need to pay to play in the new R/C park, or buy parts in the store to drive a car outside. Mid-South Hobbies is expanding their community, and they’ve made it easier than ever for everyone of all ages and interests to join in on the fun this summer.

Long-time Memphians will recognize it as the old Market Basket on Summer, right by the Pancake Shop for breakfast, and Taqueria La Guadalupana for lunch.
