Education Specialist
Position Description
Position Focus:

Full-time, Salaried w/Benefits, including 401K contribution, & PTO
Education: Bachelors Degree plus work experience

Program Focus:
The Education Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the RedZone Ministries education program. The coordinator researches and evaluates effective and up-to-date education program curricula, processes, and procedures for RedZone’s academic enrichment and extended learning program. The coordinator will collaborate with the community schools and educators to develop, coordinate, and implement an effective 21st Century afterschool academic enrichment model.
Specific Duties:
◊Direct Ministry:
o Be accountable to RedZone’s mission, strategy, and vision
o Work with the team to plan and prepare daily academic enrichment strategies
§ Develop programming that meets the individualized educational needs of participants
§ Research materials and curriculum that align with current state standards
§ Monitor progress of program & students
§ Compliance assurance
o Facilitate daily educational activities/programming
o Facilitate/support/engage in community outreach
§ Attend weekly clubs, bible studies, and sporting events
§ Promote outreach events
§ Support outreach staff
o Recruit participants and attend Summer activities
§ Summer programming, i.e. field trips, collaborations, job readiness, community service, etc.
§ Serve at summer camp(s)
o Network with churches, para-churches, and other organizations
o Have a high presence at Melrose High School and in the community.
§ Intentional effort to recruit students for all programming
§ Highly active in the school &community, i.e. service, neighborhood events, Melrose lunchroom, Melrose classrooms, etc.
§ Facilitate Parent Nights and parent engagement/involvement
◊Leadership Develop
o Network with potential partners
§ Recruit and nurture volunteers and potential donors
· Actively engage in the resource development process
§ Marketing
· Community Newsletters, etc.
· Attend Mission Conferences
· Attend Education Conferences
o Personal Development
§ Must participate in training/development opportunities
§ Attend seminars/conferences (in and out of town), as designated
o Administrative
§ Must keep accurate records of numbers and outcomes
§ Set individual goals and objectives, re: numbers, outcomes, etc.
§ Must submit reports and /or assignments in a timely manner
§ Must attend RedZone team meetings
o Compliance:
§ Work with staff and administrators to ensure timely submission of reports, payment requests, and other requests
§ Manage records, maintain databases, and monitor/manage information.
§ Prioritize job tasks and coordinate staff activities.
