Classroom Floater

Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility: Under the direction of the Director of Early Childhood Services, the position will be responsible for giving daily breaks to teachers, in order to remain DHS compliant, prepare food according to USDA standards, and provide classroom coverage when needed.

Education and Experience: High school diploma required. Experience with children in a childcare setting preferred.

Licensure: Tennessee driver’s license.

Principle Responsibilities:

-Provide classroom support in absence of a teacher.

-Assist in the distribution of meals/snacks to children.

-Prepare lunch according to set menu and current USDA standards.

-Responsible for cleanup of kitchen materials after each meal.

-Clean the facilities for the safe preparation of food and healthy environment for children.

-Attendance appropriate for position at Hope House.

-Follow all Hope House rules of classroom etiquette.

-Encourage social, emotional, intellectual and physical growth.

-Follow Hope House’s Behavior Plan prescribed for the child.

– Provide all bathroom, meal service and other needs of the children in an

appropriate, timely manner.

-Attend classes and workshops applicable to area.

-Fulfills all other responsibilities necessary for the operation of Hope House.
