Soulsville Foundation “Night Train” Gala
The Soulsville Foundation invites you to board the Night Train with us on Saturday, March 2nd for a music-filled journey through time.
Night Train, Soulsville’s largest fundraising event of the year, is a lavish party reminiscent of the time when the main means of travel was by rail, and Pullman Porters safely ushered Black Americans from coast to coast, often for musical performances.
This year’s “24K Gold” themed Gala will take guests on a musical journey through the Stax Museum, with “stops” at stations scattered throughout, each featuring a different genre of Black music, from zydeco to jazz, hip-hop to soul. Stations will also feature food and a signature cocktail matching its theme.
In addition to live performances by Marcella Simien, 926: The Stax Music Academy Alumni Band, Battle of the DJs featuring iconic hip hop from the Iron Mic Coalition and other special guests, attendees can bid on auction items such as James Alexander’s signed bass, a ukulele from Valerie June, and sheet music from David Porter.
Tickets and VIP package information can be found here.
