Crosstown Arts is a nonprofit contemporary arts organization working to cultivate Memphis’s creative community.
Crosstown Arts offers opportunities and resources for the creative community, including a wide range of spaces for exhibitions, music performances, film and video screenings, artist talks, and artist-led workshops, all open to the public.
There are a variety of spaces open to the public like galleries, The Green Room music venue, the cafe, Art Bar, artist residency studios/apartments, a shared art-making facility, and the 419-seat black-box Crosstown Theater.

Co-founders Christopher Miner and Todd Richardson stood in front of the Sears, Roebuck & Co. distribution center in Midtown Memphis, and saw great potential for a multidisciplinary contemporary arts center in the 1.5 million square feet of space.
Crosstown Arts was formed in 2010 with two goals: to create a vision for the redevelopment of the historic Sears Crosstown building and to help cultivate Memphis’s creative community.
Crosstown offers opportunities to volunteer for any interest or schedule.
Volunteers earn a variety of incentives like free coffee, free music show tickets, and backstage access to musical guests.
Crosstown Arts provides a variety of services and opportunities to the creative community in Memphis.
The Crosstown Art Residency program allows visiting and Memphis-based artists working in any creative discipline the time and space to focus on their work.
The Residency program is three months long and offered in the Spring and Fall. Artists are offered living space in Crosstown Concourse (if needed), a private studio space, food five days per week, and free access to our shared art-making space during their residency period.
