Scheduled for Sunday, June 16th, 2024, at the iconic Orange Mound Tower, this festival is set to honor a rich history with an unforgettable celebration of the present.
A Celebration of Black Joy and Perseverance
Organized by TONE, the Juneteenth Festival has quickly grown into the region’s largest celebration of Juneteenth, dedicated to commemorating freedom, endurance, and the joyous spirit of the Black community. The festival spans an entire weekend filled with culturally significant events including a film screening, a spades tournament, a black-tie gala, and the main festival itself, all under the theme of “Family Reunion.”

The choice of Orange Mound—a historical landmark, being the first neighborhood built for and by African Americans in America—as the festival’s location is symbolic. It serves as a tribute to the ancestors who built their community on the foundations of freedom and resilience. The festival aims to reconnect families whose ancestors were torn apart by slavery, celebrating their liberation together in a meaningful gathering.
