Your Guide to Spring at Memphis Botanic Garden A Million Shades of Spring Are Blooming Now

A few weeks ago, we weren’t quite sure when spring would fully arrive in Memphis. Now, halfway through March, we can confidently say: it’s here, and it’s colorful.

Spring in Memphis can feel like a switch flipping overnight. One week we’re bundled up, and the next week patios are full, dogwoods are blooming, and the city starts finding every excuse to be outside.

Right now at the Memphis Botanic Garden, BLOOM: A Million Shades of Spring is starting to show out. Hundreds of thousands of tulips are bursting into color across the grounds, and the Garden’s iconic Yoshino cherry trees in the Japanese Garden are beginning their annual moment in the spotlight. For many Memphians, it’s one of those seasonal moments that signals spring has officially arrived in the city.

“This will be one of the most vibrant moments of the season. It’s hard to put into words what our guests will experience, my best advice is to come see it for yourself before the blooms fade.”

If you’re looking for an excuse to get outside and enjoy Memphis this spring, the Garden is an excellent place to start. From family-friendly Saturdays to evening strolls among the tulips, there’s a lot happening over the next few weeks.

Here are a few highlights worth adding to your Memphis spring calendar.
