Summer is starting to hit its stride, and with that comes Elvis Week. Running from August 9 – August 17th, Elvis week is a true spectacle that brings people from around the world to the 901! Here’s a guide to just some of the events happening in the M this upcoming week, and what we would say the best event is to go to for each day of the week!
DAY BY DAY BEST ELVIS WEEK EVENT GUIDE
This is a great show dedicated to Elvis’ 1950s performances and features past winners of the Elvis tribute artist contest that happens every year. Happening live at the Graceland Soundstage it’s a great event to start off Elvis Week!
Hosted by the talented Dean Z, an Ultimate winner himself, Contestants from around the world compete for a coveted spot in the Top 10.
The top finalists will move on to the epic Final Round on August 12th. A great chance to witness Elvis’s legacy come alive and cheer on your favorites as they rock the stage!
Gospel was one of the genres that Elvis had the most love for and can be seen as a huge influence on his music and style. Also taking place at the Graceland Soundstage, this show is a celebration of that influence, with music that continues to inspire the masses.
With the top 10 finalists set to compete, judges will crown the new Ultimate Elvis, who will walk away with the prestigious title and a grand prize of $20,000. Hosted by the talented Dean Z, promises to be a memorable night. The show will also feature an electrifying performance by 2023’s Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist, Cote Deonath. Whether you’re an Elvis superfan or just love great music, this is a must-see event.
One of the late night events taking place from 10PM-midnight, this is surely a party for all Elvis fans. With DJ Argo from Elvis Radio on SiriusXM, this is surely the spot to grab your blue suede shoes and dance the night away
Put on your most glamorous awards show attire and get ready for an unforgettable night celebrating the King. Fan votes determine the winners in categories like Best On-Screen Kiss and Favorite Co-star. Hosted by DJ Argo, Tom Brown, Pat Dunn, and Dean Z, this is for true Elvis fans. Special guest presenters include Jerry Schilling, Linda Thompson, Sam Thompson, and Larry Strickland. Enjoy musical performances by Pat Dunn, Dean Z, Spencer Sutherland, and Jillian Cardarelli, and we’ve heard there’s some special surprises as well.
The true highlight (no pun intended) of Elvis Week is the Candlelight Vigil. Fans can walk up to Elvis gravesite and back carrying a Candle in memorial of the King of Rock N Roll. Candlelight Vigil is open to all who want to attend and you do not need any tickets to participate
This unique concert event is celebration of Elvis Presley’s legendary return to the stage at the International Hotel in Las Vegas.
It will transport you back to the glory days of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, featuring Elvis on the big screen with his live vocals and a band performing on stage. Enjoy some of Elvis’s most iconic performances, complete with backing vocals from Terry Blackwood of The Imperials and Larry Strickland of JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet.
Wrap up Elvis Week 2024 with a nostalgic evening at the Graceland Soundstage! Enjoy a screening of Elvis’s 1957 movie Loving You, followed by dancing to DJ Argo’s Elvis hits.
