Young Arts Patrons Creates a Sustainable Arts Community through Collective Philanthropy

“We want to knock that barrier down and say that the arts is for everyone, and everyone can support the arts.”

–Whitney Hardy, Executive Director of Young Arts Patrons

When Whitney Hardy moved back to Memphis after working as an accountant in Atlanta, she re-engaged with a thriving creative community, where she saw talented artists accomplishing a lot with limited financial resources. She wanted to create a sustainable support system to help artists continue to grow and innovate, so she created Young Arts Patrons based around collective philanthropy.

The idea behind Young Arts Patrons is that people under 40 can support the arts by collectively putting their resources together to cultivate the next generation of emerging artists. This opens up the door for anyone to support the arts and help support a healthy arts ecosystem.
