Hello, everyone! I hope you all had a happy holiday season and are currently enjoying our Year One blogs in your bespoke blanket fort far away from modern society. This week’s report is fresh off the presses as I’ve just returned home from WWE Raw, live from the FedEx Forum!
I am moderately proud to admit that I’ve enjoyed Professional Wrestling AKA “rasslin’” from a young age with some breaks in between. It is exciting to live in an area with such a rich historical contribution to the sport. From the Mid-South Coliseum to Andy Kaufman and Jerry “The King” Lawler, Memphis certainly has a place in the professional wrestling hall of fame. It was great seeing the hometown crowd rallying around the famous faces of modern day wrestling. My brother and I had great seats on the floor of the Forum so we were close to all of the action!
The FedExForum is in a great location downtown right off of Beale Street, so you have a great place to hang out and grab a drink and bite to eat before heading into the venue. In Boston, the Garden is not near anything similar to Beale Street so you are confined to the arena before and after the event. Parking is also plentiful downtown, and even free if you are willing to drive around a bit.
It is great to know that the WWE comes around town more than twice a year, I will be sure to check them out the next time they are here. Seeing the fit wrestlers reminded me that I need to find a doctor so next week I will let you know how that works out!
