WISEACRE Brewing Company, the Memphis-based beer brand that started as a dream between two brothers, just put Memphis on the map once again by securing two medals at the2025 Great American Beer Festival (GABF). Sky Dog Amber, a brand new brew from the Sky Dog Family, brought home the GOLD in the International Amber Lager category, while Memphis favorite Tiny Bomb scored SILVER in the German-style Pilsener category.
For a city that already knows how good WISEACRE’s beers are, this is national confirmation that Memphis craft beer is leading the way.
From Broad Avenue to the Big Leagues
Since opening in 2013, WISEACRE has become a cornerstone of Memphis culture, helping to define the city’s evolving identity through craft, creativity, and a deep love of lagers.
What started on Broad Avenue has grown into a brewing empire with two Memphis locations, distribution in 22 states, and over 170 unique beers brewed, ranging from German lagers to hoppy American styles, boozy Belgian creations, and even barrel-aged specialties. But through all that growth, WISEACRE has stayed true to Memphis.

“We were shocked to see it named the Best Amber Lager in the USA,” Davin admitted. “The production team at WISEACRE deserves all the credit. We have an incredibly intelligent, talented, and hardworking crew.”
Sky Dog Amber joins the Sky Dog Family, which already turned heads in 2024 when the original Sky Dog was named America’s Best Light Beer.
