BABALU
Bog & Barley
Treat friends and family to a trip across the pond by enjoying drinks and a meal at Bog & Barley. Everything (except for the Italian chandeliers!) patrons see at this breathtakingly beautiful East Memphis establishment hails from Ireland. Don’t forget, Bog & Barley offers Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Reservations recommended.
Brookhaven Pub & Grill
Have a sports fan in town? Head to Brookhaven in the heart of East Memphis. With 17 screens, three patios equipped with heaters and plenty of beer and grub, they’re sure to have a good time at the Cheers of Memphis.
Catherine & Mary’s
If you’re attending a Grizzlies game or Orpheum show over the holidays, visit Catherine & Mary’s for an upscale meal beforehand. Owned by two James Beard Award semi-finalists, this beloved Downtown Memphis restaurant offers house-made pasta dishes, unique entrees, cocktails and an extensive wine list.
Reservations recommended.
Celtic Crossing Irish Pub & Restaurant
Located in the Cooper-Young District, Celtic Crossing oozes character and charm, making it the perfect place to enjoy brunch*, lunch, happy hour or dinner. Owned by the same Irishman as Bog & Barley, the pub has been around since 2005 and is known for its extensive whiskey list, great patio and for being the best place in the city to watch soccer.
*Brunch served Saturday and Sunday.
Good Fortune Co.
Recently featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Good Fortune is one of the most popular restaurants in the city and for good reason. It’s known for its scratch-made noodles and dumplings, but no visit to the Downtown Memphis restaurant is complete without GFC Wings and Taiyaki (a fish-shaped waffle filled with a rotating soft serve ice cream.)
Park + Cherry
After browsing beautiful artwork at The Dixon Gallery & Gardens, have coffee or lunch at its in-house restaurant, Park + Cherry. With seasonal dishes thoughtfully created by renowned Chef Phillip Dewayne and a full coffee bar, you and your guests are sure to enjoy the visit.
The Archives Bar & Bistro
The Archives is one of Downtown Memphis’ newest restaurants and is also owned by Chef Phillip Dewayne. Located inside Hotel Napoleon, the establishment offers breakfast, lunch and elevated dinner offerings Monday through Saturday, as well as Sunday brunch.
Reservations recommended.
The Liquor Store
The Liquor Store has two locations, but for the sake of getting into the holiday spirit, visit the one on Broad Avenue. This time of year, it gets transformed into an official Miracle Pop-Up Bar site, meaning the restaurant is decked out in Christmas decor, serves up festive drinks and more.
