Now is the Time. Memphis is the Place.

Welcoming Week at the Y September 14 – 23

Fill your plate and your heart at an Around the World Potluck, take a free Salsa Fitness class, share your traditions on the Story Wall, and get membership specials as part of the Welcoming Week hosted by YMCA of Memphis and the Mid-South.

Beginning September 14th, all 11 local branches of the YMCA will open their doors for a series of free community events that are part of a nationwide movement to celebrate the contributions of immigrants and refugees.

All events are open to the public regardless of membership to foster connection and a greater spirit of welcome.

“At the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South, we believe communities are stronger when everyone feels welcome and we can all work together for the common good,” said Jerry Martin, President & CEO. “We are proud to be a part of Welcoming Week, which is demonstrating that in places large and small, rural and urban, people of all backgrounds are coming together to create stronger communities. It is a time to celebrate the shared values that unite us as neighbors, parents and colleagues, and to make our towns more welcoming to newcomers and to everyone who calls our community home.”
