Volunteering with Volunteer Odyssey in October

October is a busy one with events happening every weekend, many of them supporting our local nonprofits! Whether you’re looking to have a good time or give back to your community—with a lineup like this—you are guaranteed to do both!

Metal Museum, Repair Days October 21st through 24th with various shifts

During this annual event, Metal Museum volunteer repair specialists restore metal items – everything from rusted garden furniture to broken jewelry to warped heirloom silver – to their former glory—all to raise funds for Museum programs. And you don’t have to be a metalsmith to volunteer! There are volunteer opportunities for non-metalsmiths including helping at the estimating table (tagging items, entering customer information into the computer, processing payments, etc.); at the repair pick up tent (calling customers to let them know their repair is ready, tracking repairs that have been picked up, etc.); and with clean-up, beautification projects on the grounds, assisting with the Family Fun Tent activities or the Dinner + Art Auction!

Join the Levitt Shell in Overton Park as a volunteer in their 12th Fall season of free music in Memphis. There are multiple volunteer opportunities featured on Friday and Saturday of each week: assisting with the puppy bar, carrying the iconic donation bucket, or helping with general housekeeping and hospitality.

Help them make it happen by volunteering your time and talents.
