Memphis 3.0 is the city’s new comprehensive planning effort – the first since 1981. The plan will focus on connectivity, sustainability, liveability, and opportunity. It will include strategies for enhancing land use, transportation, environment, city systems, growth and prosperity, neighborhoods, and civic capacity.

The artists who are selected to join the initiative will facilitate neighborhood conversations by developing creative approaches across Memphis to discuss the civic plan’s focus areas. Artists will collaborate with the planning team to amplify and diversify Memphis voices engaged in community dialogues that will shape the future of our neighborhoods and our city.

In order to be eligible, artists must live and work in Memphis and attend one of the following information sessions:

Artists with backgrounds in visual, performing, craft, design, video, multi-media, interdisciplinary and/or multidisciplinary arts are invited to apply. The 3 artists positions will be part-time (25 hours a week) contract positions for August 2017 – October 2018. A $25,000 stipend will be paid to each artist and additional project funds will be available throughout the planning process. Applications will open in February.
