With all the great things going on in the 901 these days, have you ever been overwhelmed with choices? Well, you’re in luck! Every week we curate The Weekender, a post filled with a handy schedule to help you hit some of our best bets for an amazing weekend.

You can follow this schedule to a T, or use it as a launching point to plan your own adventure! The Weekender is not meant to be exhaustive, but will include our suggestions to help you plan the weekend aheadIn the case of inclement weather, check with each event’s page for updates.

Friday, October 19th

12pm- Get your halloween get-up together at the RTG Costume Sale.

5pm- Explore music across the genres during Raleigh Music Hour.

5:30pm- Have a wicked awesome evening at Zoo Boo.

6pm- Enjoy a four-course meal during the October Butcher Dinner, check out Devin Culpepper and Grace Porter‘s work at Crosstown, have a spooktacular time at Singleton’s Halloween Carnival, watch the course of fashion be changed at Wanderlust901: Film Night Showing of Versailles 73: American Runway Revolution, see Jon Williams get funky at Memphis Sounds Lounge, and learn how to whip up some soul food during the Hands on Heritage Cooking Class.

6:30pm- Show off your Harry Potter knowledge and do some DIY at Board and Brush Memphis.

7pm-Pay tribute to the jazzy sounds of Charlie Parker at Crosstown Arts, cheer the Memphis Grizzlies on to victory, hear John Fullbright at the Levitt Shell, get bendy at Ghost River, experience Junie B. Jones‘ first grade year at Stage Door Productions, indulge in a little Americana, a little Jazz and country at South Main Sounds Songwriter Night #99, and clown around, if you dare, at the Hauntedweb of Memphis.

8pm- Enjoy a paranormal evening with Alice Cooper, see some power slams during Real Memphis Wrestling at Rec Room, and catch Ghost Town Blues Band at Railgarten and Ward Davis at Hi Tone.

9pm- Be your saddest self at Emo Night, delight in adult bevvies and laser lights at the Pink Palace Museum, and lend your ears to FreeWheel at The Crow, Opposite Box at the Bluff, and Blackwater Trio at the Cove Bar.

9:30pm- Get funked up to Outer Ring tunes at People’s on Beale.

11pm- Hear the soulful sounds of  SugaShack at New Daisy Theatre.

Saturday, October 20th

7:30am- Run the Le Bonheur Pumpkin Run 5K

9am- Do some pumpkin decorating at Fall Fun Fest at Carriage Crossing, check out the breakfast situation at Stone Soup Cafe then cross the street for the Cooper Young Community Farmers Market, or join the Volunteer Odyssey Service Challenge.

10am- Take some littles to Halloween Spooktacular at CMOM, head to Memphis Comic Expo for the day, do a lotus and a lager at Bendy Brewski & Tour at Crosstown Brewing (10:30), or explore the power of art at BarrierFree Workshop/Panel Advocacy & Activism through Art Forms.

11am-  Make stuff at Family Fun Day at the Metal Museum, or do Sip and Shop Local Saturday featuring Mobius Theory at Primas Bakery + Boutique.

12pm- See what they’ve done with the place at Cordelia’s Market Fall Fest and Grand Reopening in Harbor Town, or see Jay Daskreet perform at Soulsville USA Festival (12:50).

1pm- Let your cup runneth over with goodness at Cooper-Young Beerfest, settle in for a full day of free music at the Madjack Records 20th Anniversary Show at Railgarten, or take a Beginning Sewing class at MCA.

2pm- Have some Pints for Pits, dig the creativity at the Memphis Comic Expo Cosplay Contest (2:30), or dress your doggo for the parade and costume contest at Howl-o-ween at Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County.

3pm- Walk through the very first Beale Street Art Cawl, visit ye olde merchants and merriments at weekend 2 of Mid-South Renaissance Faire, see the new Memphis t-shirt design at Falling Into Place’s 3rd Anniversary Party , or drop in on Monster Market 2018.

4:00 – Catch Izzy Moore (4:10) on the Aretha Stage at Soulsville USA Festival, or Black Rock Revival in Melvin’s Backyard (4:50)

5:00 – Casually have a pint or two at the Watch Party for Memphis Tigers vs. Missouri 

6:30pm- Treat yourself to a Fireside and some Pulled Pork Cheese Fries while Jeremy Stanfill & Josh Cosby perform at Carolina Watershed, or trick or treat at Zoo Boo.

7pm- Party by the glow of the bonfire at Art on Fire at the Dixon, watch The Wizard of Oz at the Shell, support A Step Ahead Foundation at their Hocus Pocus party, cozy up in the car for The Lost Boys, Fright Night, and more at Time-Warp Drive-In Shocktober 5, or get a dose of spooky burlesque at Sweet Dreams are Made of Tease (7:30).

8pm- Trap Karaoke cuz why not at the New Daisy, be the opposite of a wallflower at Zombie Prom Memphis at the Esplanade, catch The Oh Hellos w/ Samantha Crain at 1884 Lounge, hear ghost stories on the Haunted Memphis Walking Tour with Backbeat Tours, or see Jana & Krista of Memphis Dawls at Railgarten for the Madjack Anniversary.

9pm- Stick around for the Pawtuckets Reunion Show, revel in competitive insults at You Look Like a Comedy Show at P & H, or go Backsliding at The Cove

10pm- Take your chances on the Shelby Forest Trail of Terror, or opt for speakeasy vibes and card games during The Rusty Pieces at Blind Bear.

Sunday, October 20th

2am- Party hard w/ DJ Mad EFX at Printer’s Alley

9am- Haggle for the best bargain at the Memphis Flea Market and pick up a new comic at the Memphis Comic Expo.

10am- Celebrate your natural hair at Natural Hair Fest Memphis and stock up on beads at the Memphis Bead Show.

11am- Dress your fur babies up in costume for the Meet & Greet Trunk-or-Treat and explore Johnny Cash’s life in Memphis during the Man in Black Tour.

12pm- Find your forever friend during Bark & Brunch at Young Avenue Deli, brunch-n-munch at Crosstown Brewery, Silly Goose, and Railgarten, and let your kids get crafty at Crosstown Arts.

1pm- Do yoga with other yogis at Your Inner Yogi, have conversations and libations during An Insecure Conversation 3, shop, splurge, socialize and sip in honor of survivors at the Pretty Me Pink Expo and catch ’em all at the Memphis Botanic Garden.

1:30pm- Enjoy tea-time at Prima’s Bakery & Boutique.

2pm- Ride around and chat with some local ladies, learn about Storyboard Memphis at Novel, hear the vision of what’s to come at Clayborn Temple, explore science fiction in theatrical form at Sci Fi Scratch Night, and get crafty at the Pick Your Project workshop.

3pm- Take advantage of happy hour and live tunes at Next Door and join Cameron Bethany and Kid Maestro for an evening of R&B, hip-hop and electronic music.

4pm- Kick back w/ Star and Micey for an “Afternoon Delight,” hear sounds of soul underneath the sunset at Memphis Sounds Lounge, Bike from brew to brew starting at Memphis Made Brewing, see Steve Ingle & Triple X/Kingfish at Lafayette’s and Laramie at Celtic Crossing, and celebrate Octoberfest at the Pumping Station.

6pm- Learn to Waltz and Tango w/ the USA Dance Greater Memphis Chapter.

6:30pm- Wine and dine with Chef Dave Krog during Taste of Gallery.

7pm- Follow the Trail of Terror at Shelby Forest, lol at your fave vines at Best of Vine Night, connect, vibe, and lounge at the Artistik Lounge, enjoy tunes under the stars in Overton Square, listen to Nefesh Mountain at Levitt Shell, see who’s crowned Mister & Miss Pride Fest at Dru’s Place, and rock out w/ From Parts Unknown at Growlers.

7:30pm- Watch a spooky flick at Carolina Watershed.

8pm- See Sweet Fever at Huey’s Downtown.
