The Liquor Store, a newly renovated liquor store turned diner is now open for business on Monday, November 13, at 2655 Broad Avenue.
When you first enter the restaurant, you instantly feel tropical vacation vibes. From the bright floral bar to the abundant light fixtures, you will immediately know that a lot of thought and care went into the decor and ambiance which was designed by Natalie Lieberman at Collect + Curate Studio.
“It’s just supposed to be a really fun, happy space that makes you feel good when you walk in and then you sit down and eat really delicious food, and drink some really good cocktails,” said Lisa Toro, co-owner of The Liquor Store.
On the menu you can expect to see a lot of diner classics with a twist.
“You’re going to see less expected items, like the Cuban sandwich and some vegan options, even vegan pastries. We’re trying to have something for everybody,” said Toro.
Breakfast is served all day, lunch is offered daily, and dinner is served Tuesday through Saturday. An outdoor shipping container bar is in the plans for 2018.
“We’ll have different blue plate specials every night like lasagna or prime rib. I’ve got an amazing kitchen staff. They’ve each taken ownership of certain menu items, so it’s not just our chef who has developed all the recipes. Every single person in the kitchen has developed recipes on the menu,” said Toro.
The Liquor Store is open from 7am to 4pm on Sunday and Monday, 7am to 9pm Tuesday through Thursday, and 7am to 10pm on Friday and Saturday.
The owners, Lisa Toro, a California native along with her husband Luis, who is from Venezuela, also own the City & State coffee shop, and are opening a second coffee shop location in the Medical District.
