In addition to their mission to provide a platform for African American artists within the city, the CLTV wants to help local artists grow and strengthen their craft and impact the community.
With that being said, leaders of the CLTV are excited to announce that they are now accepting applications for their first Residency Program.
The CLTV launched in 2015 as a means to honor and propel African American culture in Memphis by giving the black creative community a space to display their talents, encourage and motivate their peers, and receive the tools needed to pursue and maintain inspiring careers.
The Residency program is open to any artist interested in using their craft to perpetuate and uplift the The CLTV community as they grow and expand. The residency goes from September to February and includes 24 hour access to a studio and accessible programming.
To apply you must provide samples of your work, demonstrate how your time in the residency will lend the opportunity to further The CLTV’s work in the community, and propose a potential exhibition that would further the mission of The CLTV through community engagement and thought provoking programming that create conversations surrounding the black community.
- Applications close August 31st
- Residents selected by September 10th
- Residency begins September 16th and ends February 17th
