Over the last few years the Memphis technology industry has exploded. With Fedex moving their global headquarters into the old Gibson Guitar Factory downtown, and the addition of companies like Indigo Ag and local companies like Flex and INgram, there are thousands of technology jobs for Memphians to apply for. While the tech industry can seem hard to enter, Tech901 is providing multiple opportunities for folks to learn the ropes and access the top companies in the area.
Tech901 was founded to train Memphians for local tech hiring needs. With hundreds of open positions at companies like FedEx, ALSAC St. Jude, and more that are constantly expanding their I.T. departments, Tech901 understands there are high quality and highly motivated Memphians that either want to learn a new skill or want to make a career change. To mediate the common impediments, Tech901 has made their courses affordable, offers both morning and evening classes, and shorter program lengths.
- Tech901 gives students the knowledge and experience they need to be hired for their dream I.T. job. Courses offered include topics such as I.T. Foundations, Web Programming, I.T. Security, and more. Tech901 also sees a need for a Data Analytics class, and they are currently writing curriculum for it to be available in the future.
- Tech901 instructors and coaches invest in their students in many ways. All instructors offer office hours, and each student is assigned to a coach that provides them with professional development opportunities such as resume writing help, headshots, interview prep, and more.
- Tech901 is working hard to offer pandemic related accommodations for their students. From offering software classes online to holding small, staggered, and socially distanced hardware classes in-person, the program is changing rapidly to ensure the safety of the staff and students.
