Teach901 Awards Lakeva Bridgeforth 2025 Administrator of the Year

Lakeva Bridgeforth, Administrator of the Year and recipient of the Teach901 Awards, smiles warmly in a black top and red-and-black scarf, her braided hair shining as she stands before a blurred background of bookshelves.

Meet Lakeva Bridgeforth:

From childhood dreams of playing “teacher” to becoming a transformational school leader, our 2025 MVP Administrator, Lakeva Bridgeforth, has turned purpose into practice. Shaped by her own experience growing up in a single-parent household and the guidance of mentors and educators who believed in her, she has dedicated her career to nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. After years of making a measurable impact in the classroom, her leadership potential was recognized and cultivated, launching her into a broader mission of school-wide support and change. Her journey reminds us that one voice of belief can change everything—and she’s committed to being that voice for students and teachers alike.

In her time at Southern Avenue Charter School, she embraced a mission deeply aligned with her own values: educating with compassion, equity, and excellence. Whether it’s offering resources to families in need, building strong systems of emotional support, or celebrating small wins with her staff, she leads with presence and purpose. For her, education is more than a job—it’s a calling to serve, uplift, and empower every soul that walks through the school doors. Her hands-on approach and care for her team show up in every classroom, and the ripple effect of her work is felt far beyond campus walls.

Being named the MVP Administrator is more than an accolade—it’s a full-circle moment for someone who once needed the kind of love and belief she now gives so freely. This honor is a testament to years of service, sacrifice, and unwavering faith. Her legacy is one of transformation—of helping others see what’s possible when someone truly cares. As she puts it, “I didn’t just survive, I rose.” And through her work, she’s helping a new generation do the same.

Thank you for all you do!
