Tamale Festival: June 27



Centro Cultural will team up with Caritas Village and Crosstown Arts to bring Memphis the first ever Tamale Fest, mixing fundraising and cultural experiences at Caritas Village on June 27th from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Tamales will be everywhere! A tamale tasting tent, a tamale cooking contest, and a tamale photo booth alongside main stage entertainment, food trucks, and art vendors will make this event packed with fun activities. A kids’ activity corner will ensure fun for the entire family.

Centro Cultural tries to strengthen Latino cultural heritage and promote the diversity seen with all forms of art. The center reaches out to people of all backgrounds, and wants promote awareness of the rich diversity within the Memphis community.

General admission to the fest costs $5 and for children 8 years old or younger the event is free! You will get 2 tamale tastes with general admission. At the fest, you can get your own tamale event t-shirt for $10 and a tamale cookbook with local stories and recipes for $10. You can purchase an event package that includes the admission, t-shirt, and cookbook for $20.
