SweatHouz Brings Contrast Therapy to East Memphis This Fall

East Memphis is about to get a little hotter and a lot colder. SweatHouz, an Atlanta-based wellness company, is opening a brand-new location in Williamsburg Village (715 S. Mendenhall Rd.), bringing infrared saunas, cold plunges, vitamin C showers, and more to the Bluff City this October.

What’s SweatHouz?

If you’ve seen the growing “fire and ice” trend across the country, you already know: it’s all about contrast therapy, alternating between high heat and icy cold to reduce inflammation, improve recovery, and boost overall wellness.

Franchisee Paul Stephens swears by it:

“I had back pain for 20 years. I got introduced to contrast therapy, and after 20 years of pain and trying everything, it went away from doing saunas and cold plunging. It helped with the inflammation and everything else.”

What to Expect

The 2,500-square-foot studio will feature:

  • 8 private suites, each with its own sauna, cold plunge, and vitamin C shower
  • A red-light therapy room
  • An ADA-compliant suite so wellness is accessible to everyone

Memberships are already live online, starting at $200/month for founding members (includes up to one session per day). Walk-in sessions will also be available for non-members.

Why It Matters for Memphis

General contractor Metro Construction expects to wrap up the buildout in October, making this the first SweatHouz in the Memphis metro. Stephens says more are on the way, with plans to expand into Southaven, Collierville, or Lakeland.
