Char will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and Sunday brunch at 431 S. Highland Street.

The 6,900 square foot space will seat 220 and feature an open floor plan, high ceilings, large windows, two private dining rooms and a luxe lounge designed by Anna Cardona of Ledford Engineering. Char’s stylish atmosphere will accommodate both business lunches and family brunch.
Owner Ben Brock brings Char to Memphis along with a team of top hospitality partners, including Doug Hogrefe, David Conn and Paul Schramkowski. Together, the group owns 11 restaurants in Tennessee and Mississippi. Their previous eateries include the original Char in Jackson, Mississippi, and the Italian restaurant Amerigo.
Brock has already appointed Char’s managers, but those interested in a position in the 75-person staff should email general manager Andrew Fischer at andrew.fischer@charrestaurant.com.
Char will be one of several restaurants moving into the Highland Row space, near the University of Memphis. The walkable area will include luxury apartments, restaurants, and shops.
