Now is the Time. Memphis is the Place.

Shop + Eat in Memphis to #Fight4Literacy Jan. 21 – 27

Dine out and shop to help give the power of literacy to local students during Fight for Literacy Week, January 21 – 27th.

Coaching for Literacy’s Fight for Literacy Week presented by International Paper brings together local businesses and restaurants, along with Penny Hardaway and the Memphis Tigers to raise awareness about illiteracy, and raise funds for Memphis Teacher Residency’s MTR Camp.

Participating businesses will be donating a portion of their sales when you dine or shop on designated days during Fight for Literacy Week. You can help make a difference by visiting Central BBQ, Kooky Canuck, Lisa’s Lunchbox, Mempops, Oak Hall, Pimentos, and Vineyard Vines.

The week culminates with the Fight for Literacy Game with the Memphis Tigers on January 27th at 3:00 pm at the FedExForum. Tigers fans can make a flat donation, or pledge a donation for each assist that the Tigers record from January 27th to February 7th. To make a pledge, visit pledgeit.org/umtigersforliteracy.

100% of the funds raised from Fight for Literacy Week go directly to MTR Camp, a local program that seeks to combat summer learning loss and promote a love of learning for students in MTR partner neighborhoods.
