Starting June 1st, the online grocery delivery service, Shipt will begin its service in the 901 for Memphis residents.
Founded in 2014, Shipt is the nation’s fastest growing online grocery marketplace that is committed to simplifying the lives of members with their service. They will be partnering with local Kroger stores to begin its deliveries with additional retailers to be added later.
“From music, to food, to entertainment, Memphis is one of the most vibrant cities in the country. By bringing Shipt to Memphis, we’re playing our part in making Memphis members’ lives that much easier.” -Bill Smith, founder and CEO
Approximately 400,000 households in Memphis will have access to the service. Annual memberships cost $99. Shipt members are able to have unlimited free delivery for orders over $35.
Shipt’s service offers full selection of items from grocery stores by listing products by aisle, and also features categories like healthy ingredients, quick and easy meal ideas, and more. Through the Shipt app, you can place your order, pay for your order and choose a one-hour delivery window.
Another part of Shipt is their commitment to work with local charities in each of the communities it serves to help eliminate hunger and food insecurity in and around the city of Memphis. As a part of their launch, Shipt will donate $10 for every membership sold prior to June 30th to your choice of the Midsouth Food Bank or Memphis Kitchen Community.
