A lot of people don’t know about Memphis’ technology scene. Yep, Memphis has a tech scene — with considerable thanks to Seed Hatchery. Seed Hatchery is a downtown Memphis-based, 90-day mentorship program that equips a selective group of startups with coaching and capital to get their ideas growing out of the ground. Such companies as Friendsignia and Choomogo started as Seed Hatchery pitches that now represent a piece of what Memphis means to the rapidly expanding startup world.
Budding startups, web designers, and web developers with great ideas can apply here to the Seed Hatchery Program or the Seed Hackers group.
Closely related to Seed Hatchery is LaunchMemphis, which provides the following list of #memtech events, its regular techie meet-ups in Memphis:
1. Tech Coffee. Tuesdays at 8 a.m. at Republic Coffee
2. Tech Lunch. Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. at Panera Bread
3. Tech Cocktails. Second Wednesday of every month. 5:30 p.m. Location: TBD
See here for more opportunities to connect with groups to get involved with the brightest entrepreneurial Memphians. Memphis, a place for tech? Yes, indeed.
