Now is the Time. Memphis is the Place.

Screening of Elf at Orpheum for Mid-South Food Bank

The Orpheum Theatre is screening the popular holiday movie Elf in partnership with the Mid-South Food Bank on Wednesday, December 19 at 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:00 pm).

This year will make the third annual Midsouth Arts Against Hunger Food Drive, and you can benefit the cause by bringing three non-perishable food items to donate. If you don’t bring any food items, entry is $5 in cash at the Orpheum box office. In addition to the showing of Elf, jolly ol’ Santa himself will be making an appearance. You’ll be able to take pictures with him at the Orpheum photo booth.

The Orpheum and Halloran Centre will also be accepting cash donations Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, November 26 through December 20. You can also bring your donations and get your tickets during those days and times.

Veronica Batterson, Midsouth Arts Against Hunger Founder said, “I am so pleased that Memphis arts organizations have joined together once again to encourage their patrons to give back to those in need during the holiday season. The Mid-South Food Bank is an incredible resource for families in the Mid-South who face food insecurity.”

You can spread Christmas cheer by both benefiting a great cause and watching arguably one of the most heartwarming Christmas movies ever, so round up some food items and go down to the Orpheum on the 19th. You can’t go wrong with helping others. Remember: it’s what Buddy the Elf would do.
