Restaurant Iris is set to re-open this August 22 after a summer closed for renovations.
The building was gutted down to the studs, and will re-open with a familiar but updated look and feel. Restaurant Iris was opened by Owner and Executive Chef Kelly English (Restaurant Iris, The Second Line, Magnolia House) 10 years ago and has been one of Memphis’ premier restaurants since then.
While the restaurant will remain true to it’s roots of providing the best tasting and most innovative dishes in the city, it will do so with a new approach. Chef Camron Razavi will continue to oversee daily operation of the kitchen.
“The restaurant is going to feel a little different. A little more modern than you remember it. Less walls in the space. I feel like we’re staying exactly true to ourselves by changing. It’s going to be the same focus of what we’ve always done: to tell the story of who we are. Just with a little more modern approach to it.” – Chef Kelly English
Part of Restaurant Iris’ new look is more outdoor seating, as well as an expanded bar that you will walk into from the front door. The new bar will have 12 seats and a few tables close by. The Bar at Restaurant Iris will have an exclusive menu of Creole inspired classics, and will also allow you to order from the expanded menu if you can’t get a table.
