After the crazy weather we’ve had so far this year, who wouldn’t be pumped for springtime? Because just a few reasons wouldn’t do justice, here’s a list of reasons springtime in Memphis is epic.

1. The Weather

How could this not be number 1? Springtime brings over 770 hours of sunshine and mild temperatures.

You can catch live music just about any night of the week here in the Bluff City. Check out the free nights of jazz, and all of the music events coming up.

5. International Events

Memphis is home to a diverse array of cultures. Learn about them at one of these upcoming events.

6. Beale Street

Get a “Big Ass Beer,” hang out on the cobblestone streets, people watch, and see where the original Beale Street Flippers got their start.

Combining community, healthy lifestyles, affordable transportation, sustainability, and beautification; Memphis is working hard to make its city a bike city.

8. Memphis Farmers Markets

Memphis has some great farmers markets where you can get local fresh produce, artisan crafts, food, or even enjoy live music.

9. Beale St. Landing

It’s not just a park. It’s a splash pad, riverboat dock, restaurant, museum, an outdoor fitness space, and a movie theater on some nights.

10. Food Trucks

Stuffing your face never felt so good. Memphis has plenty of food trucks that you can check out almost any day of the week.

11. Memphis Redbirds

Memphis’ favorite baseball team kicks off its season on April 11th and hosts some amazing firework nights.

12. RiverFit

The Redbirds aren’t the only athletes, with the installment of the Grizzlies Get River Fit Trail; you yourself can train hard.

13. Peabody Rooftop Parties

Enjoy music, food, drinks, and friends at the Peabody Rooftop Parties, starting back in April.

14. More rooftops

Enjoy a great river view with drinks and music at Twilight Sky Terrace Rooftop, or check out the Terrace at River Inn in Harbor Town for a sit down meal with a great view.

15. Public Art

You could spend a day (or two) outside just viewing Memphis murals and public art.

16. Downtown Memphis

Hang out on South Main enjoying all the art galleries, shops, restaurants and more (especially on Trolley Night), run through the fountain at Civic Center Plaza, try a new food spot, and more.

17. The Memphis Zoo

Designated one of the best zoos in the world, there’s always something to see at the Memphis Zoo, like the new Lego exhibit. (Parking lot full? Try parking for free on the street, not on the greensward.)

18. Parks and Gardens

Shelby Farms Park, recognized as one of the greatest parks in America, offers a dog park, award winning playground area,  GoApe ropes course, restaurants, and so much more.  Also check out the Dixon Gallery and Gardens and the Memphis Botanic Garden for beautiful florals, outdoor events, and more.

A Memphis tradition, springtime is the best time to check out this hidden gem and enjoy one of those famous Jerry’s Sno Cones. (Protip: Take plenty of cash, Jerry’s is cash-only.)

20. Drive-In Movies

Yep, you read that right! Spring is the best time to visit the Summer Avenue Drive In movie theater and catch one of the Time Warp movie series. (Protip: Take jumper cables just in case. Trust us.)
