Yes, you read that title right. If you want to live on the edge, and I mean literally live on the edge, then going “Over the Edge Memphis” is what you’ll need to be doing on April 25th, plus it’s for a good cause.
What if you could get your friends and family to donate money to see you rappel off a 28 story building in Memphis? What if those funds help release about $2 million dollars a year to help feed and care for thousands of orphaned and vulnerable children in 18 countries?
Local nonprofit and event host, Orphanos, which supports over 20 international ministry homes for orphans, asks you to raise or donate $1,000 in order to rappel 28 stories off of the Hilton Memphis. Your money raised will help feed and care for orphaned children in 18 countries. Participants will get their own time slot to rappel off of the Hilton to have their own special moment, filled with plenty of social media opportunities.
You must be 18 and must have raised a minimum of $1,000 in order to rappel. If you raise over $1,000 here’s what happens:
- A free “Over the Edge Memphis” hoodie
- Raffle ticket to win $50 gift card to Outdoors, Inc
$2, 500 raised:
- Win a free GoPro
- Win a new iPad mini
- Free trip for 1 to a international ministry partner location
Once registered, you will receive a time to rappel as it gets closer to April 25th. The rappelling will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., so you will arrive early enough to go through your check-in and training before you rappel. You’re also welcome to arrive early and watch others rappel before you so that you can get a feel for things.
