Pass Go in the 901: Monopoly Launches a Memphis Edition

It’s official!!! Memphis has landed its very own square on the Monopoly map, and this time, it’s not Boardwalk or Park Place. It’s Beale Street, the Memphis Zoo, and all the barbecue in between.

On September 24th, the Monopoly: Memphis Edition was unveiled in a packed room at the University of Memphis, bringing Bluff City pride to coffee tables and game nights around the world. A year in the making, this custom version replaces the classic Atlantic City landmarks with Memphis’ most beloved cultural sites, historic landmarks, nonprofits, and small businesses based on thousands of suggestions from proud Memphians.

What’s on the Board?

From Graceland and the National Civil Rights Museum to the Memphis Zoo and local hangouts, every corner of this edition was crafted to tell the city’s story.

Here’s a sneak peek of what makes this edition special:

  • 22 custom property spaces, carefully curated from public votes and community partnerships.
  • Easter eggs in Community Chest & Chance cards, like flat tires from Memphis potholes or getting stuck in the right lane on Poplar Ave.
  • Featured organizations like St. Jude, Le Bonheur, and Shelby Farms Park.
  • Categories include Memphis eats, attractions, nonprofits, and music landmarks.
