Local funk band, The Outcry, invites you to their debut performance at the HiTone on Thursday, July 13.
What sets The Outcry apart from other bands is their approach to performance as activism. The Outcry combines visual art, spoken word, dance and all original songs to tell their truth.
For a $7 cover charge, you can also enjoy live painting, local spoken word artists, flow dancers and crowd participation activities. Participants will take part in creating a community-led art piece to show the band’s vision for a just Memphis.
Representatives from local social justice organizations like MidSouth Peace and Justice Center, H.O.P.E. and SURJ will have informational booths. There will also be merchandise giveaways and a raffle drawing for tickets to an exclusive private pool party show. Their debut will begin at 8 PM.
