Orpheum Announces Year Round Movie Series

Today the Orpheum announced the launch of a new year-round series, Movies at the Orpheum, presented by Orion Federal Credit Union. The first three films have been revealed and more titles will be announced throughout the year.

The change comes as the Orpheum’s summer calendar grows increasingly booked with Broadway, concerts, and other special events.

“With Hamilton playing the Orpheum the entire month of July, and other events scheduled in June and August, we don’t have as many opportunities to screen movies exclusively in the summer as we have in the past,” said Brett Batterson, President & CEO. “We are excited to expand this beloved moviegoing experience to our patrons outside of the summer months.”

General admission tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Packages of 10 tickets will be available through the Orpheum box office for $65 and may be used for a single movie or spread throughout the series.

Movie lineup so far:

  • Friday, January 11 7 pm – Singin’ in the Rain (Rated G)
  • Friday, March 15 7 pm – Space Jam (PG)
  • Friday, April 26 7 pm –  Walk the Line (PG-13)

The Orpheum will be celebrating Memphis’ bicentennial with the screening of Walk the Line which features the historic Orpheum Theatre along with other local landmarks. Dates and films will be added throughout the year. Please visit orpheum-memphis.com/movie for the most up to date information.
