Omnium Circus Comes to Buckman Arts Center April 16

At 7 pm on Thursday, April 16, Buckman Arts Center at St. Mary’s Episcopal School, 60 Perkins Extended, will welcome the first-of-its-kind Omnium Circus! An inclusive cast of the genre’s most noted, multi-talented, and multi-abled dancers, aerialists, contortionists, and balance artists defies expectations with skill, ingenuity, and teamwork. With ballet, contemporary dance, juggling, unicycle stunts, acrobatics, gymnastics, slack wire, and hula hooping, audiences will journey to a world where all things and all bodies are possible with the power and perseverance of the human spirit. This performance showcases the talented work of hearing-impaired and disabled artists.

“This special show offers us the opportunity to share with audiences of all ages and abilities. We are so excited for Memphis to experience this completely new and fascinating show!”

Founded in 2020 as a nonprofit, Omnium Circus believes that a circus experience with a full spectrum of people representative of our global culture as artists, staff and audiences leads the way to a truly diverse, equitable inclusive and accessible society.

According to their mission:

We create a safe space where people from diverse backgrounds can experience wonder, laughter and joy together. We celebrate our diversity and create joy and laughter enriching empathy among all people and inspiring healthier communities through shared positive experiences.
