Music Must Continue at Stax Music Academy, and This is the Last Week to Make Sure it Does

Justin Timberlake. Elvis Costello.  Steve Cropper.  What do they have in common?  They are just some of the many musicians who have poured their love into Memphis’ own Stax Music Academy and the thousands of young students who’ve been shaped by the world-renowned music education program.

They have given their time and money to help the students and aspiring artists fulfill their dreams.

Will you do the same?

Don’t wait, because music must continue!  This is the final week of Stax’s campaign to raise $50,000 to cover tuition for students in need. They are only $12,000 from their goal, and hitting that goal would mean that no student has to give up their music education this year.

Memphis – let’s do this!  For the kids, for the 901, for the music, and for the legacy that Stax has held throughout the years. 100% of Stax Music Academy students graduate from high school and get accepted to college, many with music scholarships. This is worth celebrating, and worth supporting.

Stax Music Academy costs $9,000 per student, but no student ever pays more than $1,000, and over 80% of students pay as little as $200.  The only way that’s possible is through donors.

What can you give today to turn dreams into opportunities?

Support the #MusicMustContinue campaign today.

As a special thank you to Memphis for supporting the #MusicMustContinue campaign, you can enjoy a very special live performance from Stax Music Academy! Don’t worry, it’s virtual.

Every June, Stax Music Academy’s Summer Grand Finale Concert is performed in front of one of the largest Levitt Shell audiences of the year. Live shows were cancelled this year due to COVID-19, but this Friday, September 4, 2020 at 7:30PM, you can tune into Levitt Shell’s Virtual Concert Series on their Facebook Live platform and watch their exciting live performance from 2018 featuring 100 young performers and the great hits of Stax Records.
