Music Export Memphis’ Tambourine Bash Returns, Encouraging Collabs and Connections Within Our Musical Community

After a year off (ahem, thanks 2020) Music Export MemphisTambourine Bash is happening October 14th at the Levitt Shell, acting as night to showcase local artists and to raise funds so they can keep doing what they do best.

“Tambourine Bash is an evening centered around collaboration,” Music Export Memphis’ Director, Elizabeth Cawein explained.

“These artists’ mashups craft a sense of community and push creative boundaries, and Music Export Memphis provides the tools needed to empower artists to thrive through grants, support, networking and connection.”

Symphonic funk singer and songwriter Louise Page became a ‘Membassador’ with Music Export Memphis in 2019.

After touring with no funding in 2018, the opportunity to be involved with Music Export Memphis allowed her to receive a grant that helped her hit the road with her band and big dreams. This year, she’s performing in collaboration with Faux Killas and Alijcia Trout.

Louise narrates her involvement:

“The diversity of artists is exhilarating! All ages, genres, experiences are represented. The challenge is for independent artists to come together to work towards a common goal, bringing a creative vision to fruition. Collaboration is so crucial to growth.”

She notes the event is also a great time to network, connect and learn more about how Music Export Memphis has impacted the music scene.

Singer, songwriter, and composer KadyRoxz is joining the lineup this year as well. Like many others, she reflected on a season of downtime during the pandemic and is ready to perform again.

“I used the pandemic to slow down a bit, so I am really thrilled to be back on stage—to ease back into showcasing my work again! This superset picks up the pace and reveals the dedication that comes with collaboration.”  Kady said.

KadyRoxz is joining forces with neo-soul artist  Jordan Occasionally and the “diasporic” song diva  Talibah Safiya for this year’s Tambourine Bash. The superset features Kady’s signature smooth, R&B sound with a soulful, electronic twist.

There’s even more quality collaboration to come! Check out the line-up of performers who are bringing their own flavor to the festivities:
