Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience to Launch New Live at the Scheidt Series in Memphis

The Scheidt Family Performing Arts Center at University of Memphis is set to welcome a major cultural event this fall as Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience comes to Memphis on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at 7 p.m.

The performance will officially launch the Center’s new Live at the Scheidt series, a bold new initiative created to bring premier touring productions and outstanding live entertainment to Memphis and the Mid-South.

A Powerful Celebration of Blues Heritage

Symphonic Blues Experience blends the soul of Delta blues with the elegance and power of a live symphonic performance. The immersive production celebrates the stories, music, and lasting cultural influence of the blues, one of America’s most important musical traditions.

Guided by the iconic voice and creative vision of Morgan Freeman, audiences can expect an evening filled with history, artistry, and emotional depth. Adding to the experience, the production will feature a live performance by the University of Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

Tickets for Symphonic Blues Experience will go on sale June 1, 2026.

The full Live at the Scheidt season lineup will be announced May 1, 2026.
