They meet up once a month to chat and learn about the art scene in Memphis through attending artist talks, museum exhibitions, gallery openings and lectures, and are committed to embracing innovation in the city.
They’re known as Memphis Young Arts Patrons, ages 21-35, who have a passion for developing the art scene in Memphis by partnering with local organizations and partaking in fine art events. The group focuses on young Memphians’ relationships within the art community.
A nonprofit that was just founded in 2015, the group has already taken part in various outings within the Memphis art scene. They’ve been to Ballet Memphis, the Memphis Symphony, and on April 18 they will attend the Night at the Opera event at Playhouse on the Square.
You don’t have to be a performing artist to be in the group and membership is free. Contributions are accepted and help fund the event costs.
