What Are the Golden Age Games?

Now in its 39th year, the National Veterans Golden Age Games is the only multi-sport competition in the world designed exclusively for U.S. military Veterans ages 55 and up. The games promote healthy aging, rehabilitation, and wellness through sports, proving that no matter your age, it’s always the right time to stay active, challenge yourself, and have some fun.

Why This Matters for Memphis

Hosting the Golden Age Games is a big win for Memphis, giving the city an opportunity to welcome Veterans from all over the U.S. and showcase our legendary hospitality, culture, and community pride.

It’s also a reminder that Memphis is a city where service, resilience, and community are always celebrated and where fitness and wellness matter at every stage of life.

What to Expect at the 2025 Games

This year’s NVGAG will include:

  • 🏅 18 sports competitions

  • 🚴‍♀️ 7 exhibition events

  • 🏆 At-home 20K & 5K cycling and trivia events for remote participants

  • 🏃‍♂️ Three divisions: Ambulatory, Visually Impaired, and Wheelchair

  • 👵 Eight age categories, ranging from 55-59 up to 90+

Competitions will include everything from swimming, track and field, and golf, to pickleball, bowling, and table tennis.

How You Can Get Involved

💪 While Veteran registration is now closed, Memphians can still get in on the action by volunteering. It’s an incredible way to honor those who served and support their journey toward lifelong health and community connection.
