Memphis Symphony Chorus Auditions 1/3

The Memphis Symphony is celebrating their 50th anniversary with a concert on February 5th and they are looking for vocalists to showcase their beautiful voices alongside the chorus for this upcoming 2015-2016 season. The performances include some popular compositions like Mozart’s Requiem and Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances.

No matter what vocal part you sing, you are welcome to audition. Auditions are set to take place Sunday, January 3rd at the Balmoral Presbyterian Church, located at 6413 Quince Road, at 6 pm. The Chorus Director and Chorus President ask that anyone auditioning be able to read music as you will be asked to sing several scales; in addition, sing the National Anthem in different keys and perform singing exercises.

The Director of The Memphis Symphony Chorus, Larry Edwards says,

If you are debating on whether or not to go through the audition process, please let me encourage you to make that commitment. Let me assure you that everyone walking into an audition feels very nervous, but everyone leaves feeling very good about what they’ve done. We believe membership in the Symphony Chorus to be a truly exciting and musically rewarding experience!
