Memphis Raises $3 Million for Nonprofits

Memphis knows the power of showing up for one another.

In celebration of Black Philanthropy Month, the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis joined communities nationwide to spotlight and support Black-led, Black-benefiting nonprofits on August 28.

And guess what?!

$2,978,087 was raised for 100 organizations making an impact right here in Memphis and the Mid-South.

That’s nearly $3 million of hope, opportunity, and investment poured directly into the neighborhoods and people who need it most.

Local Leaders Lifted Up

Beyond the incredible generosity of community donors and foundation fund holders, the Community Foundation also awarded $5,000 in special grants to five local organizations randomly selected from the 200+ Black-led nonprofits listed on LIVEGIVEmidsouth.org:

Each of these organizations represents the vision, leadership, and resilience that drives change across Memphis, from mentoring youth to strengthening families and expanding access to education.

Why It Matters

Black Philanthropy Month ensures funding equity, making sure Black-led nonprofits not only have a seat at the table, but the resources to thrive and carry their work forward.
