The annual independent festival, Bristerfest, is going down May 9-11 this year at Cooper Walker Place in the Cooper-Young District. Bristerfest will benefit Grow Memphis, a local organization which serves to “help build urban community gardens and support local sustainability”.
There will be 40 performances by talented local blues, soul, rock, bluegrass, reggae, hip-hop, R&B, folk, jam and funk groups. More than a music fest, Bristerfest includes: a film festival, live art, theatre, dancing, art vendors, yoga, music workshops, DIY jams, and poetry. Of course there will also be plenty of food trucks and local beer.
