The Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum and the Memphis Music Hall of Fame have partnered up to launch a new app dedicated to promoting the city’s rich musical heritage, as well as today’s growing artists. Memphians now have a great resource for discovering new music around town, and for keeping up with their favorite bands.
The free Memphis Music app is available for both Android and Apple devices. You can search for venues, new artists, upcoming concerts and play games like Memphis music trivia.
“We’re really excited about the ‘New Memphis Music’ feature,” said John Doyle, Rock ‘n’ Soul and Memphis Music Hall of Fame Executive Director. “For years we have enjoyed promoting Memphis’ rich musical history, but we’re equally committed to the perpetuation of today’s explosive Memphis music scene.”
Got visitors in town? Now you can check out the app and find a show!
“As Memphis continues to attract millions of visitors to our city on an annual basis, many of whom come here to explore our rich musical heritage, we felt that it was imperative to create a simple and engaging app that will assist both tourists and local citizens in finding the must-see music attractions and venues that our great city offers,” says Rock ‘n’ Soul Program Manager Ezra Wheeler.
The new artist section offers music samples and bios of artists. Any Memphis musician can request to be included on the site.
