Position Overview:
We are looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated individual to join our Marketing Communications Department as a Sr. Coordinator, Social Media. The Sr. Coordinator, Social Media is responsible for creating and delivering engaging content that aligns with our organization’s overall strategy.

Responsibilities include creating content; developing and managing a social content calendar; publishing and responding to posts on different platforms; finding proactive ways to engage with followers and trends; and understanding social metrics and action on the findings. This position also will manage our paid social ad buy (including what content should be pushed) along with helping to develop the social strategy with the Director, Digital Strategy and Creative Services and know what tools are needed to help Youth Villages reach their goals. The candidate must work well with many other departments and have strong interpersonal and organizational skills. The right candidate will have a social media background and should have proven success in management of local, regional and national campaigns.

Job Duties:

  • Develop a monthly content calendar for all platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) that includes writing captions and selecting creative elements (photo, video, graphic) that will go with each post
  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends
  • Create engaging text, image and video content using online tools or in-house/vendor support
  • Actively work with PR team to capitalize on campaigns, media coverage and success stories through engaging content
  • Oversee Digital Asset Management system
  • Manage our YouTube channel
  • Research and build relationships with social influencers that can amplify our message
  • Manage CEO social platforms including posting on Twitter and LinkedIn and responding; developing the voice to present CEO as an authority in child welfare
  • Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around our organization
  • Help develop social strategy on annual basis including which metrics we should measure
  • Stay up to date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness; proactively suggest ways to adapt based on these changing landscapes
  • Train co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way
  • Proactively engage with opportunities to capture content (YV events, employee activities, etc.) to share on social media
  • Respond to comments with followers
  • Report and respond to online reviews, positive/negative content, etc.
  • Evaluate and report on metrics monthly and annually
  • Work with Public Relations on crisis support
  • Handle paid media buys (strategy and provide content to agency)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, news media or marketing (required)
  • 3+ years in social media management for an organization or an advertising agency (required)
  • Proven work experience as a social media professional
  • Working knowledge of social media management tools (publishing, listening, analytics)
  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
  • Ability to coordinate creative content (text, image and video)
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
  • Ability to review future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Flexible with after-hours/weekend work as needed
