This position will be responsible for supporting Youth Villages business development, strategy, and government relations work. In addition to implementing programs directly, Youth Villages also trains and supports other organizations (partners) to implement our models. This position will focus on supporting partner service-provision growth and sustainability, new business development and expansion, and public policy efforts in assigned states and new expansion initiatives in states where we do not yet have a presence.
– Work closely with Youth Villages regional network leads on assessing barriers to growth and developing strategies to address those barriers in states where private and public agency partners are implementing Youth Villages core models
– Work closely with regional network leadership to drive expansion of Youth Villages services in assigned states
– Collaborate in the business plan process with state leadership, Youth Villages Strategic Partners operational leads, strategy team and Business Planning and Policy leadership
– Monitor RFP opportunities, lead RFP response efforts, generate new budgets and opportunities, and work in collaboration with partners on a robust relationship management/building process
– Research state/county landscapes, private providers, potential funding mechanisms (government and private) and new business opportunities
– Identify and articulate reasons why an opportunity would be of interest/ not of interest to Youth Villages
– Assist in initial and ongoing marketing efforts as well as presentations (marketing packets, work with Marketing/Communications Department to develop necessary materials, create PowerPoint presentations for internal and external communications, write letters and e-mails)
– Communicate with program and other Youth Villages leaders, including CEO, during potential expansion periods and new site start-ups
– Cultivate relationships with a broad range of diverse stakeholders who span ethnicities, racial backgrounds, personal viewpoints, age, and communities of origin
– Manage logistics for events hosted and/or attended by Youth Villages
– Assist and/or lead the process of supporting jurisdictions through the process of applying for Youth Villages funding to implement the LifeSet model
– Research growth opportunities, cultivate relationships and provide support to introduce programs and services to potential partners and funders
– As a member of Business Planning and Policy Department, must be flexible with additional job duties, including but not limited to conference attendance and travel for in person meetings as appropriate
We are looking for additions to our team who will bring strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail and experience working with upper level leadership. We need Business Planning and Policy Specialists who are assertive self-starters with a strong sense of flexibility and creativity.
The successful candidate will have the following:
A Master’s degree is preferred
A Bachelor’s degree is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills required
At least two years of experience in one or more of the following areas is required:
Experience related to negotiating contracts with relevant public agency funders and/or knowledge of funding sources (i.e. Medicaid/managed care, child welfare, mental health)
Experience in one of Youth Villages’ programs
Experience creating and executing a national sales strategy
Experience overseeing relevant child welfare agency services such as a state Independent living program or prevention programs
